Of all the main markets, Albenga is reknown for its early vegetables. Vegetables from Albenga are the gathered and distributed by Cooperative Society L'Ortofrutticola. Founded in 1941, it consists of over 900 members and it is the natural production outlet of the ingauna plains. It markets the precious vegetables, the early vegetables of the local gardens and particularly exclusive delicious vegetables as thorny artichokes , violet asparagus, "cuor di bue" tomatoes, trombetta pumpkin and aromatic and ornamental pot plants.
