CHESTNUTS
Chestnuts from Savona are a symbol of the mountains. Here they are produced, dried and crumbled. The chestnuts are then partly and directly sold, the rest being transformed into other confectionary products. Thus, we have a marked product called "Chestnuts dried in the "tecci" of Calizzano and Murialdo"(dried out in small stone buildings) Chestnuts from the Alta Val Bormida are a local and special variety. They are small, sweet and crunchy chestnuts with a typical smoky flavour.
